The Skill Path is a calisthenics training application built and operated independently by Michael in Charlotte, North Carolina. This policy describes what information the app collects, why it collects it, and how it's used.
We do not collect health data, location, contacts, or any information from your device beyond what's stated above.
Account and training data are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest using Google Cloud's standard encryption. Access is restricted to the account owner via Firebase security rules.
Your data is used to operate The Skill Path: to compute your recommended sessions, surface your progress, render charts and history, and support the social features (group feed, leaderboard) you opt into.
We may use aggregate, de-identified usage information to improve the product — for example, to understand which exercises users engage with most, or which features need more polish. The Skill Path uses Google's Firebase Analytics to collect this data (page views, session counts, anonymous device/browser info). We do not pass any of your training history or personal identifying information to Firebase Analytics.
The Skill Path does not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. We do not run ad networks or tracking pixels, and we don't combine your usage with cross-site profiles. Your training history is yours.
If you join a group or post to the global activity feed, the following becomes visible to other users: your display name, your avatar tier, your earned belts and badges, and the activity entries you generate (sessions completed, rounds won, etc.). You can leave a group at any time. Activity entries are scoped to the surface you posted on (group or global).
You can delete your account from the app's Settings page. When you do, your account and training history are removed from the live application immediately. Backups are retained for up to 30 days and then permanently deleted. Activity feed entries you previously posted are anonymized — your name becomes "Departed" and your UID is replaced — so others' reactions remain valid without revealing your identity.
The Skill Path is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, please email us at hello@theskillpath.app and we will delete the account.
For privacy questions, email us at hello@theskillpath.app. You can also reach us through the app's Settings page once signed in.
This policy may change as the product evolves. Material changes will be flagged in-app the next time you sign in. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
